Widebody Street GT-2 (Progress)

Well i finaly have time to work on my model cars!

At the start i was going to build this kit stock, but you all know how much i love converting race/rally to the more simple street look.

I puttied the "rivited" looking gards up to give it a smoother finish:

I will either be using the stock rims or these R34 GT-R rims:

Once i had finished the putty work i got onto priming:

I will now allow the paint to dry for a week before i start to polish.

Time to start work on my sil80 and onvia again! :)

I'm just working on Italeri's 993 turbo which converted to 4S.
I'm looking forward to finished this 993!

as much as i like the r34 rims, i'd say go with the stock rims... the car is definately going to be one awesome build... keep it up

I look forward to this project, as I have started a super-detailed version of the GT2 also.

Please post close up pics of the stock BBS and the way you dealt with center lug nut... It looks very complicated from the pictures of the real wheel.

Yes there is slight orange peel.....(very slight) but polishing will get that out.

Alright well i got up at 5:30am today just to get nice pictures so you could see that the paint doesnt have orange peel (just looked worse in the last pic)

I didnt get a picture of the wheel yet becuase it needs another coat of paint.

on a second look, i have 2 gripes about the body itself, not your worksmanship... the front end doesnt seem to go down low enuf to be even with the sideskirts, and the wing is sooooo friggin huge for a street car

There is a front wing i still have to add. I will polish the body before i glue this peice on.

ah well that explains it... i think the front wing will also make the rear wing look a lil smaller

you bought a 911 GT2 race car and you make it street, same thing with your 206 and the astra but its my opinion. I thinks you can put all the decal on the car or just the side flag on the rear fenders

oh man, this is one NICE gt2... excellent job so far

Oh man, drilling brakes are a major PITA. It takes major patience. It looks like you took as much pride on the rest of the car, like you did the Brakes. Keep up the awesome work.

i agree with schubert, the wing is a bit big. but on the other foot, it suits the car, and ive actually seen bigger wings (in real life) on the little rice boxes farting round my area (damn hyundi had to make the excel:eek7: :puke:

this car is just looking pure class! the drilled rotors look amazingly real.
cool pinvise too, i gotta get me one like that as mine is an annoying git sometimes.
paint looks very sexy and this is the best gt2 i have seen so far!

Love the exhaust and the brakes... I did the same exhaust on mine (in the progress thread that no one watches ;) )

The brakes look very realistic now! Where is the Porsche caliper insignia>?
