I am planning to order 5 models from HLJ. Here they are :

1) 1/24 Mazda RX-8 Type E by Fujimi ( FUJ03574 )

2) 1/24 Nissan 350Z Track (Fairlady) by Tamiya ( TAM24254 )

3) 1/24 Mazda RX-7 R1 by Tamiya ( TAM24116 )

4) 1/24 Mitsubishi Lancer VI by Tamiya ( TAM24213 )

5) 1/24 Toyota Celica GT-Four by Tamiya ( TAM24133 )
If I get this model I will get new wheels. (Any suggestions?)

Has anyone of you built these models?
I need some input on them before I order.. :)

Oh yeah.. Just a random question, who's located in Canada,Quebec?

Heres some pros and cons about the Nissan 350Z Kit.

Pros: Great easy kit to work with, lots of detail in the interior
Cons: Exhaust Pipe is molded onto the chassis.

I have built one, if you havnt seen it just put a search for Pikes Peak White 350Z Track.

I don't know about other people, but I can't see the pictures! :'(
Maybe you can repost them? Or.. put them on your site?

click the pic in my sig to see my rx7 r1. It is a great model! Very newbie friendly! Only hassles I had were the side mirrors and the rear windscreen which didn't fit perfectly :(

I am currently building the Celica GT-Four and it is a beautiful kit! A lot of detail and here is a link to my progress thread on the car. I have to sand it down again and respray because there was a lot of dust and in general it looks crap (even though it has no orange peel and a beautiful shine!).

I know you are new here, so maybe you shouldn't get so many kits at once, because it will take you quite a while etc. Also, if you are using rattle cans to paint the body, buy two of each colour for the cars. You could only get one can, but chances are you will screw something up and will have to respray, so you save money on purchasing it again. Also, depending on your local hobby shop, it might be a good idea to buy abbrasives, cement, a gundam marker, some putty and masking tape!

So in summary, buy a few less kits but more general supplies... I bought primer and sprays and abbrasives and tape from HLJ. That including a model of the r34 V-Spec 2 cost me AU$100. If I bought everything here, it would have cost me at least $200... If you want, I can help you make a new list with fewer models but more general supplies. PM me ;)

what sebstar said is right. try to stock up on supplies first. for me its about 3 orders (and counting). i just have a few models at hand because of this. Also, if you're really new to this, u should start out with cars that u like but really dont care too much about. that way, u wont mess up ur favorite car and wont be disappointed.

So, I'll cut some cars out of the list, maybe I'll order the GT-Four and the 350Z ( << one of my favorites) I am ordering atleast 3 because I have 3 unbuilt ones sitting on the shelf.. :grinno:

Abrassives? :eek7: (What you need that for?)

sanding the car, fixing up flaws, polishing... and with 6 kits, you'll be busy for a long time, especially if it takes you as long as me (1+ month for a kit)
