Rear window defroster

Help - 1999 Chev Malibu - rear window defroster does not work, checked fuse and would like to check the switch. I do not know how to get to the switch in the dash without breaking the dash up. please help. Thanks.

You should be able to pull the trim off from around the dash easily, then the cig. adapter, pinch the grey bottom to release that. Then once its outa your way, you should be able to take out 2 screws holding the whole heat control panel, from there your on your own. I havent messed with that stuff just the stereo...
