The Boss Shinoda Mustang was designed by Larry Shinoda. He came to work for Ford in the 1960's. He and his team was responsible for stuffing a 429 engine in a 94 mustang GT. Thats right 670 hp :evillol: Does 0-60 in like 3.5 seconds.

Now what you saw was basically a regular mustang GT with a boss package. This package was an option you could get through Ford. The Boss in 94-95 did not come with a 429 it came with a 5.0 like the GT. It did however have some performance upgrades that the regular GT did not. Check out this web site

He is the one that spearheaded the Boss 302, which won the TA series back in 70.

Most people think that the Boss 302 has 351C heads, which in fact the 351C has Boss 302 designed heads.

I like that website, but fact is John Coletti and SVE did all the work on that 94 Boss '9. (Seen it, heard it, met John Coletti) They just used Shinoda Graphics.

As far as I know the Boss Shinoda package was mostly stickers and spoilers, some had different wheels than a GT (they were ugly though) and a few had small engine modifications and possibly suspension upgrades. I looked into them back in '99 when I was 'stang shopping, but I still went for the Cobra.

BTW you can get the stickers themselves now so it could have just been a GT with some stickers on it. Seen a few of them myself.

that explains it cuz it was an automatic and has stock GT wheels.

Ive got the unequal length shorties. If you go through Summit there BBK-1525. They were about $180.00 bucks.

They were a pretty easy install, that is after you get the old ones off that was the biggest pain. Take my advice get some liquid wrench. Once I was past that the new ones bolted in about an hour. I almost went with equal length but after talking to some guys at the track they talked me out of it. They say that unless you are making rediculous power they are a waste and twice as hard to install. My next bit of advice would be to go with the X pipe. I went with the H but later found out that the X pipe makes better power.

actually the 1994 boss 429 has 850 hp and runs on octane, and does 0-60 1.9 secs not 3.5, and did the 1/4 mile in 10.5, i had the issue where it ran against john moss's 1999 zl-1 camaro with 770 hp, and the boss 429 had troubles and had to quit the test, and then gave the zl-1 the win, if the boss would have stayed it would have walked all over the zl-1, but i do give the zl-1

Just as an fyi the Shinoda team is going to do an aftermarket package on the 05 pony too. Apparently this time it will be more of a "complete" package with a stroked 4.6L V-8 under the hood. And no, it is not the new 5.0L cammer crate motor Ford is about to release.

Eventually, they claim they will do a Shinoda car with that motor in it, but they ran into some issue with using it right now...I can't recall what the problem was.

There is more info on this car over at Brad's Mustang site.....and that is all I know.

No I didnt get it dynoed afterwards I should have. Its kind of hard to tell how much hp you will get with just headers. I was told by several shops headers alone give about 5hp so I doubt you will feel much of anything with just this upgrade.

I changed out my 4 cats to an off road Hpipe at the same time I did my headers. That was a hp increase I could immediately feel. If I had to guess I would say about 15 hp total. You could feel it in the seat when I started to bang through the gears. :evillol:

I think Ford is saying 420hp and nearly 400lb-ft of torque for the EFI package. Yep, that is for the EFI package, because Ford is going to offer the motor set up to run carbs too. There will be a 65 fastback with a webber carbed 5.0L cammer in it at NAIAS.

If Ford offers even a decent deal on this crate motor it should sell like hotcakes.

the shop is probably bsing you to try and get more money.
you can do all but the craziest headers without pulling the engine.
hell, you can even change the cam without pulling the engine if you're careful.

yea all u have to do is take the heads off. most cars u dont need to take the engine out to install camshafts.

Are you talking about your 95gts? If they are talking about that car there nuts. Your 98 gt might be a different story because I know there are clearence problems with that particlular year.
