why isn't there a music section, i mean there is a tv one, anyway i would like to know what kind of music ya'll like.
my favorite is punk and ska. some hip-hop mostly the old school stuff like big daddy cane, and run dmc, etc... and stuff that bumps in my car.
music that i can't stand, good charlotte, simple plan, and all of the poser bands that hink they are punk, but sing about girls, and wanting to be different when they really aren't, and country. that pretty much covers it. i can stand the classical, jazz, etc... its all good. even talk radio JUST NOT POSER MUSIC.
my favorite bands are in order:
1.the aquabats
2.the misfits
3. the vandals
4. big daddy cane
5.the flying panguins of san juan(my band(we're ska))

This month I'm all about metal, been wearing out Fear Factory cds, mainly Digimortal, Demanufacture, and Obsolete.
Last month it was Faith No More.
And next month is shaping into a 70's punk rock obsession. Clash, some Misfits, Blondie....but this is all subject to change on a whim...

I listen to all different kinds of music. I'm with you loismustdie on the no good charlotte or simple plan music. However, I did recently hear a song by good charlotte that I didn't mind. It's called "Hold On". I like the song because of the lyrics and it's meaning. It's just addressing a problem growing among many teens, Suicide.
But anyways, I normally listen to stuff like:
Saves the day
Taking back sunday
AFI
The Ataris
The main rap stuff I listen to are the less known guys like Talib Kweli or Jurrassic 5. I can't stand stuff like like mr. G-unit himself, 50 cent.... or Nelly... or any of that "bust a cap in yo mo' fuckin' head" music.
It all depends what kind of mood I'm in. If I'm in kind of a mellow mood when driving or something then I'll put in some Coldplay or something else kind of soft and slow. If I feel like driving fast or have a couple friends in the car then I normally put in some kind of techno.
So yeah, I'll listen to almost anything as long as it's good.

A music section was considered - but was considered diverging too far from our core purpose as car forums. TV is just there to stop COT getting cluttered up with TV show threads.
I LOVE most kinds of electronic music. Trance, Vocal Trance, Hard Style, Hard House, Techno etc. Also selected rock and rap.

do pop bubble gum shitty rock?
if it is it would fall in with linkin' park and sum 41, they suck really bad, i guess you can listen to what you want though, most people who like that horrible music also like bands like the misfits and the vandals, they are awesome bands, and you chould really get into that instead of that stuff off of mtv.
oh yeah and i forgot to mention i like eminem alot too, he is probly the most talented hip-hop artist around right now, and one of the only ones that actually has real tatoo's and rights his own music.

Anything that sounds good, right now is a mix I burned consisting of a little disturbed, a little metallica, 409 (beachboys), the platters, techno, and drowning pool (let the bodies hit the floor), so as you can see I'll listen to anything I feel like listening to regardless of its genre except for most rap because I'm not into the whole "I snort coke and shoot hookers".

I listen to rap for the bass....but when I actually want to know what the person is saying when they sing, I listen to Queen or some other old school rock group.

I listen to just about anything, except for slow jazz, country and rap. I can't listen to rap, because I care more about instruments, and all rap offers in that arena is "deedle deedle deedle dee" really high pitched, and it's massively suctional.
Though recently I've been on an early electronic music kick, I especially like Yellow Magic Orchestra, Kraftwerk, and of course: Men Without Hats.
Also been playing some ragtime on the piano, it's probably a bit above my level though.

YES! RIGHT ON!
i've been speaking this addage for so long now...i mean it's up to you what you listen to...but if you seriousley only listen to Good Charlotte or SImple Plan, and consider yourself "hardcore" because of this...then you need some serious brain surgery...
bands of the moment for me are: (reading from my Winamp list)
Armor For Sleep
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
Sparta
The Mars Volta
At The Drive In
Funeral For A Friend
Taking Back Sunday (one of my all time faves)
Brand New (one of all time faves)
Yellowcard
Less Than Jake (saw them live at warped tour...got new album for x-mas, it's awesome)
Coheed And Cambria
A Static Lullaby
Story Of The Year
Matchbook Romance
Billy Talent
Alexisonfire (local guys. from my home-town, met them once)
Fairweather
Hopesfall
Planes Mistaken For Stars
Straylight Run (members of TBS and Breaking Pangea)
Strike Anywhere
The Movielife
Rufio
Moneen
i also enjoy a little Incubus, RATM, Radiohead, DMB or other good alternative at certain times.
the only rap/hip-hop i'll listen to is underground stuff like J5, or the Beastie Boys (not so underground, but still...).
i can't stand the "bling bling, money and bitches" mainstream rap. if i hear a song i like from that genre, i'll download the instrumental version of it, because usually the only reason i'll listen to rap is for the beat.
i also listen to selected techno sometimes, also only for the beat or to test out my speakers.
enjoy some classic rock too. i grew up listening to Paul Simon, McCartney and Wings, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Chicago etc. through my dad.
