resin moulding

i found this rubber stuff for making moulds.my first try was this resin driver. i`m going to be making resin turbos and intercoolers and such in the future.:naughty:

If you plan on selling things, I must warn you that shipping from SA is going to cost a fortune.

Your mold looks really good though.

im not sure if i`ll be selling them.mostly for my own cars but maybe in the future.:rolleyes: that is a copy of a minichamps f1 driver.i`ll only sell original stuff though if i do decide to sell.

i would imagine that its probably latex

omg. you so have to make rims for cars! like open a catalog and just kinda replicate them! that would really give you a small business! let us know how you go with this stuff!

RTV Silicone, Stands for Room Temperature Vulcanizing, no added heat required

Uhhh that would be completely illegal to replicate a companies aftermarket wheels and sell them :nono: :nono: :nono: , copyright laws do apply

Try www.micromark.com, they have a nice complete set ( silicone, relases, resin...) for about $70. I got one last year and its pretty nice. Once you have the process figured out then you can probably find stuff at your LHS. www.alumulite.com is another excellent source. Keep in mind these products have a limited shelf life so don't but huge quantities.

The only other thing you will need is a set of Leggos for the forms, $10 at Target.
I have been working on a How To , hope to have it posted soon. I think you guys will like it

Well I wouldn't say it was easy, but not hard either.
Being very careful and meticulous is the key along with a little plannig and thought.

anyway it is rtv silicone.i just used legos for the form like has been said.but you could also use tupperware.the first casting doesnt come out perfect.hehe my first driver had no left leg:icon16:
