I was wondering if anyone knew the actual recommended petrol RON rating for a JDM 1st Gen B16A ?

What's a RON rating? Is that what we call "octane rating" in the states?

I'm almost certain Honda high-performance engines are rated for 98 octane fuel in Japan. Can someone verify?

yea its 98 in japan, its like 91 in the states.
