whenever i start my engine and start to move out, the accelerator pedal is hard to depress and when depressed, it surges forward. it only happens whenever i start the engine.

any help is very much appreciated

i dunno but i may have same thing with my 97, i really haven't thought much of it and am not concerned because it only happens sometimes for a second, but sometimes if i put it in either drive or reverse, and press the gas, it doesn't sound like its in gear for a few seconds, and doesn't really move, then it seems to go into gear i suppose and drives off fine, like i said im not concerned, because it doesn't happen everytime at all, once and a great while for a sec or 2, but it may be the same thing as you..your probably just pressing the gas harder than me when it isnt going, so then you "surge" off, i wouldn't say the pedal is hard to press though

Yes, i mean i would like to have a smooth acceleration when backing out instead of pressing the gas harder and have it surge if you know what i mean. it became a problem when this is happening everytime i use the vehicle. would appreciate if anyone could advise. thanks again.
