How do external wastegates work...after you get to whatever psi you have the wastegate set for, the wastegate opens.Do you just bleed it off with out going to your downpipe and all that, or do you somehow make to go to the downpipe.I get how internal gate work...but not external.Also...do you know if a T3/T4 turbo from lets say turbonetics...does it come with the O2 housing? And where can i find a downpipe for it?If you can help me out i would really like that.

Dooood, youre 14, dont get hooked on this stuff now, it will make it seem like an eternity until you get your license and a car.
As for your question though, yes, once you reach the set psi, the wastegate just opens and release the air into the atmosphere.

unless you have an up pipe then you can put it back into your exhaust system and supposedly that makes the turbo spool faster. Not absolutely positive on the faster spool though. It would make sense though because it was create a suction on the exhaust and pull it away faster.
