Step 1:
cut a strip of styrene any length but 12mm wide
http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/2.jpg
Step 2:
now make markings 7mm apart
http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/3.jpg
Step 3:
now cut out the little rectangles. u'll only be using 9 per PS2
http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/4.jpg
Step 4:
For better handling, stick a piece of tape to an old paint bottle top. put one rectangle on the tape. apply glue, and put another rectangle on top but about 1mm in from the edge of the first piece (only on 2 sides). i did this so that 3 rectangle edges are sticking out in the front and 2 pieces in.

http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/6.jpg
Step 5:
now stack 4 rectangles right on top of each other with glue. put that stack about 2mm in from the bottom edge.
http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/7.jpg
http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/8.jpg
Step 6:
With the mitre box and saw, cut off the excess so that it resembles the picture. smoothe everything out with the file. *note: if you dont own a mitre box and saw, u will have to file off the excess*
http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/9.jpg
Step 7:
paint the whole thing using semi-gloss black. after everything was dry, i painted the small blue square on the bottom left corner of the front. thats where the USB and firewire ports are in the real PS2. i also used gloss red and a toothpick to put a small dot that represents the "PS" on the real PS2's cd-tray. I didnt bother recreating the "PS2" logo on the top since this unit will be under the glove compartment.

NOTE: this ps2 was made in 1/25 scale for a revell ITR. 1/24 measurements are: 12.5mm x 7.5mm
*EDIT*
I didnt make PS2 controllers yet because im waiting for epoxy putty from HLJ.

im going to mold it out of epoxy. since its so small, detail doesnt matter as long as i get the general shape.

Ok, i may be a boring old (30) fart, but i got to know WHY anybody would put a playstation in a car, i mean, i love my ps2, but the only answer i can see is that those bodykitted, air-suspended ricers become so undriveable after the handling and areodynamics has been destroyed in the name of "tuning" that you need a game console to stand riding in it. Great build thougt, looks very good (looks over my shoulder at my 1/1). looking forward to see it with controls.

its to enhance the ICE (In Car Entertainment). i guess you would put a PS2 for the same reason you would put TV's and DVD Players. in show cars, almost anything goes. plus, the revell escalade is coming out soon. wouldnt it be nice to make a escalade with a huge plasma and ps2?
BTW, just finished one of the controllers (sorry dont have a picture at the moment). now i just gotta make another one taking pictures along the way. it'll be up in about 3 hours cuz i gotta go somewhere right now.

Controllers
the controllers are difficult to make. i cut out a 6mm square of styrene and just cut out the basic shape. i then used some detail wire and gued it to the controller. after that, i cut out a tiny rectangle to glue to the other end. heres what it looks like after being painted
http://home.nyc.rr.com/kasso/webpics/howto/11.jpg
all that left is some detailling. ill try to make more and see if theres a more practical way of making controllers.

Looks pretty good. The wire is too thick though. But other than that, it's perfect!

Hey guys, I just got back from walmart tonight. I got one of those DUB CITY hummers that has all the subs and amps in it. My plan is to make molds of the amps and subs, but to my surprise guess what I found that also came with it??? Tired of guessing? lol. Anyway, when I started stripping the parts I wanted. I found on the passenger side seat theres a 1/24th playstation controller (its the duel shock controller even) so I will be making a mold for that aswell. Ill try to get some pics if anyones interested to see what it looks like...
