hello, all
I really need you guys to help me if you can. I have bose in my 96 max and I have this weird problem. The display (LED) comes on and off intermittently by days apart. I think it has something to do with temperature of the unit but not sure. The sound works fine but I don't get to see what channel or track I'm on so it kinda bothers me. Today, I took the radio apart and couldn't find any loose soldering or wiring connection.
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and had it fixed before. Please Help! All Help Will Be Appreciated!
Happy Holydays!!!

Well, is it only the radio that does it? I know when I was playing around with my inst. gauge bulbs I forgot to plug the dimmer switch back in, so I thought everything was all messed up. Otherwise, I would guess the harness is shot, cause LED's don't burn up or anything like that.

yeah, unfortunately only the radio does it. And everything else works just fine. Oh, in addition... while the diplay is working, i would turn off the engine to go in some place or something. And when I come back out and turn it on, the display wouldn't show anything again.....until whenever. Thanks though. I really appreciate it.

maybe the head unit has a bad ground to the frame.

I'm having EXACTLY the same problem right now with my Bose from my 96 Max as well. I will have to take the radio out and give it to a guy who has fixed my Bose unit for me before but I just don't have any money right now.

My Bose used to light up once upon a time also ahh those were the days but now the piece of *rap doesnt light up at all unless I push on the left corner of the face plate and hold it there.I figure the face plate is loose or something from all the hard cornering.Anyway I have'nt taken it out to check because Im going to install a JVC in my max soon so maybe I'll get around to checking it out sooner or later. But my guess would be some conection with the face of the unit comes loose. Can't wait to get it out. It's a shame Nissan could have done better with sound.

My BOSE behaves in the same manner. Many folks report the issue is gone after cleaning and reconnecting the unit main connector (behind the dash board, rear wall of the unit). It’s a great pain to get there so I didn’t try it myself.
