Car idles differently every day...

Sometimes my car idles properly around 700 RPMs.
On other cases its around 2000 RPMs.
Daily its different. My car idles anywhere from the 700 up to 2500. I thought maybe it just needed to warm up whenever the RPMs were so high, but usually I'll drive for like 50 miles and it still doesn't drop. Any ideas?

Have you checked your spark plugs? The gap might be off...Or have you checked the oil? Maybe something with the air filter? You know check the basics...

what's the gap supposed to be at? i bought the bosch platinum spark plugs, and the guy said that they're already preset... but i think otherwise... its just 1 pin... so i assume its got to be gapped properly
