Wiring for A/C...

Anyone know how the A/C is properly powered.

On my car, when I purchased it, for some reason the AC is on a Switch.

When the switch is off, no cold or hot air.
When the switch is on, a/c works, but I have to remember to turn the switch off, or else my battery gets drained.

There's a wire on the + of the batter, that connects to a little plastic tube deal, and from that to the switch. From the switch, I can't tell where the wire runs, I have yet to open up the car. Once I get some pics I'll post them if I'm not being descriptive enough. Or am I not able to? Anyways, just curious if someone could help me out with this.

Oh, also, the RPMs drop by 500 whenever the Switch is turned on... is that a sign of a weak battery?

that sounds kind of ghetto.
you could wire the switch up to the ignition, so that its only on when the car is on.

as for the power dropping, is it when you turn the A/C on with the switch on? when you have the AC on it will seem to make the RPMs drop.

i learned that since the compressor turns on, for the a/c, it puts more stress onto the engine, so that's ok...

but as for the switch... u know how it already comes with a switch for the a/c... its either fully out, halfway in with the light on, or all the way in with the light on, well that doesn't have any effect at all with the a/c. i wonder if maybe he was having too much problems with the original switch, so that's why he put a fuse, or some kinda power booster between the battery and the switch.
