is a Buick Wildcat considered a muscle car...? I've heard many pople talk about how their Plymouths and that other junk is and they weigh like 5000 lbs! now if what i heard about a muscle car is correct, it should be big engine, light body. like a GTX 440= 375, weight 4500...
Wildcat 430= 360 weight= 3900 :disappoin now if a GTX is considered a muscle car than us Buick people should demand that our performance machines are recognized! :iceslolan

Yea we demand it all the time. Uforutunately for some reason it does not happen. The only time you get reconized for having a buick is when a person accually sees, hears, feels the performance. When I first went to the local hangout with my car I got laughed at. Then after I killed the "fastest" car there (chevelle) They looked a little differently at my car. Everytime Buick has been allowed to make a muscle car they completely dominate in power torque speed and everything elese. But since it's a "Buick" it's not worthy. One thing that is nice about the kinda solituide that we have is that is filters out all the trashtalkers, idoits, ETC. That is asscoiated with a Camaro or mustang. (Not saying all camaro or mustang drivers are like that but they have them.) Seems that the only people who make performance buicks accually do there homework and see the advantages that Buick has to offer. I know pepole who had a chance to buy a GN or a GS and they won't just because it is a buick. All you can do is shake your head :disappoin .

I know what you mean, there are so few of us Buick enthusiasts out there. And when i get my Grand National Next weekend i'm going back to my friend who has an Integra GSR, who also said "F*** a Buick." I'm gonna kick his ass on the street, then we'll see F*** a Buick.

There's a story of a guy who had a GM pickup with one of those little kids taking a leak on Ford sign. Some kids pulled up in a Mustang and asked if the truck could pi$$ on Fords. He said, "No, but I've got something that will!" He had them follow him home and then whipped their 'Stang with his GNX! Of course, he left the 8 second TR in the garage.

i would love to have a GN but the cheapest one i found was like $9,000... Ford made the Thunderbird SC thats super charged where the buick is turbo charged... given that i still love buicks and the GN is faster... i would rather spend 1,000 to 3,000 on a SC than 9 grand on a GN
(nobody has n e thing that i would need the GN n e way... my friend has a 73 mach 1, and my other has a 69 GTX, but i'll leave them up to he wildcat if it can't beat them so be it but a GN would be a little overkill)

I want a Stage 1 car... Someday out of college. Yea GN's are a little pricy. You know what is funny though? You can go to KBB.com and they say a GN with no miles is only worth 5k

yea i'd love a GSX but i'm to cheap to buy a GN let alone one of those lol... even though a GS455 stage 1 is a little less than the GSX, i still don't have 30,000 bucks to buy one. Even then have to hear about how people's hemi cudas and that crap is still faster and how Buick isn't a performance company... and i was wondering what is better supercharger or turbocharger?

IMO A turbo is alot better than a supercharger. Yea you hear people talk about lag and such. If people know how to setup a turbo car, you will not experence any lag at all. Also superchargers are extremely inneficient *sp* when compared to a turbo. You know the superchargers that are on top fuel funny cars? It take 1000 HP to turn them fast enough to make the ammount of boost they run. If they ran a turbocharger they would have about 950 extra HP. But that will never happen because for one thing they don't make a wastegate big enough to controll that type of Heat and Exahust pressure. That and they can barely keep them going down the path as it is. Think how it would be with another 950HP.

Thank you for the complement. 11.81 at the nationals..... And I drove the car there from peoria, IL to bowling Green KY.
as far as a car running a 12.9 right out of the the box.... This is a freak story and it happend but I don't count it. When the GNX came out some magazine did a high 11 some pass down the track. But it was like a 14 gegree day ( great for th intercooler) and they accually torched the track to make it somewhat sticky. The new LS1's are close. but right out of the factory I don't think so. Once you start to get that fast traction is the limiting factor.
