charge light & choke light stays on

After installing a new battery the choke light and the charge light will not go off on my 1986 olds cutlass cierra cruiser. The car idles too high for a while, is there anyway to fix this problem ? Thanks Dan

hey i had the same problem check the oil sending unit some models run their choke through it.And prevent your choke from working.Thus giving you a high idle.Hope it solves your problem.
