There should be a square hole that a 1/2 Breaker bar should fit in. Use it to take the tension off the belt.

Well you get a ratchet with the right size socket and push that fucker down till the belt is loose and then pull it off. As far as replacing the altanator, just backwards from taking it off. It's really easy.

yeah alternators are a no brainer, just unplug the well, plug on the back, undo the single wire. and take out the bolts holding it in. then put the new one in place, put all the bolts back in, secure the single wire back on, and put back in the plug. but oh yeah make sure you take off the negitive batterie cable first. as far as the belt, all ya need is a ratchet and breaker bar, i think its a 3/8 inch square though. but i could be wrong on that.

Have you been drinking Iroc? A breaker and a ratchet? You meant socket right?? LOL I think it's either a 1/2 or 14mm socket, but hey I've been wrong before.

oh shit, im retarded, my bad, the new cars actually have a square hole in them the ratchet head fits into, and you slide a breaker bar (hollow tube) over the handle of the ratchet to make it easyer, i forgot that the older ones have the nut on the outside. oi, time for a nap. but i think its probly either 13 or 15mm. but i was wrong before, so maybe i should just stay quiet on this one :)

Acutaly Iroc, it's the size next to the one that isn't the right size. Figure that one out. Oh..answer me this...why does GM use Metric and standard size nuts and bolts? That urks me.
