Help! My 95 Explorer's alarm has just stopped working. I've replace the batteries in the remote, even tried to reprogram it. But the alarm isn't even setting at all. The automatic door locks don't even lock when you drive like they are supposed to. All I did was lock the doors walk away and when I came back to open them the remote did nothing. It's almost as if the alarm doesn't even exist anymore. I was told to find the module and reset it but I can't find it. I purchased the vehicle used so I don't have an owners manual and I have no knowledge of the exact alarm system on it at all. I don't want to take it to the dealer if I don't have to.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Yes, this is a factory alarm. I didn't know it had an alarm when I bought it a few years back and had to take it to the dealer to get a new remote for it.

the module should be located in either 2 places, a panel underneath the dash right underneath the steering wheel wall plate that is screwed in with 4 screws, it should be behind a metal plate, or it should be behind the plastic housing by the emergency brake step

i think you should check one thing though, usually the alarm is connected to a 12 volt constant positive on the fuse box, at times the wire falls off because its either kicked or it just comes off loose with time, check to see if you see a loose wire around there, that might be your problem if nothing is working, peace

SmileAny help is appreciated, thanks.

try disconnecting the negative battery cable. this will reset the sistem. my 2001 explorer black widow alarm sistem stopped working after getting beach sand in the remote and didnt work for almost two years. Then I had the battery replaced and it started working again. all I had to do then was re set it per the instructions. GOOD LUCK! :)
