My 1998 Camaro Z28 has fog lights, but they aren't working. I hit the switch, and the little light comes on, but the fog lights dont come on. The fuse looks like a relay, and I cant tell if this is still good or not. Are there any other known problems with this?

the relay might be bad. I think you can get a replacement at autozone.

Is there any way I can tell if the relay is bad? I dont have an autozone within an hour of where I live.

have someone hold onto it, or if you can reach it and the foglight button, do it yourself, but when you turn the foglight switch on and off, the relay should click loud enough to hear, and strong enough to feel, if you are able to feel and hear it, the relay is probly fine, look for a break in power between the relay and the lights themselves. if you have a test light, just go along the wire, to each connector, fuse, plug and whatnot, and test for power, when you get to the point where power stops flowing, youve found the problem.

Or you could stick a wire in the hot spot on the connector base and the place that goes to the lights, if it light then it's probably the relay..but I wouldn't suggest that, it could hurt. Trust me on this. I used to be dumb and tried it..but please what ever you do don't use a bread tie, they burn up..:D

lol, um yeah, you could do that too, but isnt it more fun to completely take apart your car to change a bulb???? maybe thats just me *sigh*

I haven't checked the bulbs, but i doubt they would both be out, especially since the car has only 40k miles on it. Most cars fog lights last longer than that. I'll flip the switch and listen to the relay and see if that's the problem. Thanks

dude, check the bulbs, I just bought my 98 Z a few months ago with 48 thousand on it. The same thing happened to me, bulbs would not come on, both of them were burnt out! damn! besides, always start with the simplest and least expensive problem/solution!
