I have a 95 gsr obd1 with 130,000 miles on it. I am going to go turbo in about a month and i was wondering if it would be smart to drop a new motor in it? I was thinkin about going with a built lo compression b18c block with a b16a head? Cus i know that the b16 head is better than the gs head . Would i have to wire anything up different with the b16a head or do anythin to the block. And p. s. im not goin ls/vtec so dont ask. Thanxx

yeah i dont know about doing that.. if your gonna do a swap with a diff. head do an LS/vtec or just LS turbo that would be your best bet in my opionion.

You know what? I want to see PROOF that the B16 head is better than the GSR head. I mean scientific proof, and it needs to happen on EVERY car, or else its not really "better" it just happened to be so on a few occasions and now has a reputation as being "better".... and not just "my friend said" or "this guy told me," I need documents... Anyways, why dont you just kep the engine and beef it up? Darton sleeves... you said you're gettin new pistons.... better valve train...the works, that'd be cheaper than putting in a newer engine and rebuilding that one and you could use better parts and build up more. :2cents:

i remember i was watching mtv or something , and they had this really stupid thing about street racing, they basically followed a bunch of kids around with cameras and interview them etc. it seemed really fake, because the type of people who were in it and the way their launches sounded (floor the gas and pop the clutch, their burnouts lasted forever)
anyways, the main guy they follow is this kid with a rhd dc2 integra from japan. but when he pops his hood, hes all smiling and says here is my ls/vtec engine. and i thought to myself... wait.. he said dc2, so he DOWNGRADED his engine? if your car originally comes with a VTec engine, why go LS/VTec? My cousin has a b16 and people keep hyping him up and telling him to go LS/VTec, and i told him that its just a hype. why spend a shitload of money to build a motor that will probably have several reliability problems and make like what, 10lbs more torque? Word of mouth hype can pressure you, but the science of tuning cars is exactly that. Science. Cold hard facts and numbers back everything up. Anyways, sorry if i got a little off topic, but i agree with spectre. why spend more money to swap to a b16 head when you can just build up your current vtec head? my :2cents: (damn sounding like whtteg with the 2cents thing hahha)

Well i would like to rebuild my motor but i dont have the time to take the motor out and do everything to it . I cant have that much down time on the car . So i wanna built a new engine and juts drop it in and sell the old one.
