Anybody have photography for a hobby? If so, what kind of equipment do you use?
I mostly have medium format cameras:
Agfa/Ansco Speedex B2, Readyset special, Shur-Shot (box camera!)
Kodak number 2A cartridge cameras (oldies) in 120 and 116 film sizes, Instamatic X-35.
Pho-Tak Foldex, Hong Kong "Mini Cameras" (17.5mm film) and perhaps my only "legit" camera, the rarely functional Canon AE-1.
I have more packed away somewhere...

What do you use?

Canon Powershot A80, my A40 went missing under mysterious circumstances, but was an Awsome camera (see my sig). The A80 is very similar, just 2 years more advanced.

Ah, the A80: a wise choice for paper-cup beach photography. :)

Actualy I used the A40 for the paper cup beach shots, the A80 has yet to be properly used.
Its had an outing at a party, and rattled of 169 excellent shots in Auto mode (I was to drunk to worry about the other modes).
It will get it's first real test next week when I go to Waiheke Island (look it up www.google.com) for New Years.

I'm into photography.

Equipment:
- Canon A70 3.2 MP
- Canon EOS 650 (SLR)

New photos:

Those are all taken from the A40/A70. I'm not good enough with the SLR and developing is expensive.

I looked ay buying a Digital SLR, but DAMN are they expensive. Anything worth getting would have cost me about 1/3 of a years income.

The A80 does most of the same basic things an SLR will do, just with out the same lens quality and freedom, and the same extreme range of shutter settings. For the sort of stuff I do its about perfect.
I looked at a G5, but its really just an A80 with a differnt lens in a tougher case. Basicly extra weight which I dont want at the moment.

Some very cool photos there, I see you also like shooting into the light.
I love the ablity of Digital Cameras to do it, and the Canons seem to do it extremly well.
Iv taken photos of the same subject with a friends Sony Cybershot, and the results are quite differnt, the Sonys take some nice pics, but seem to be less able to handle shooting into light, and show less contrast.

Canon EOS 300 w/75-300mm and 24-80 (I think...its currently at the other end of the Island).

I mainly do aviation, little little little bit of motorsport.

I was also into motion photography, with my fleet of 8mm cameras and lenses... until video came, ruined everything, and dual-8 film was discontinued. I can still order it, but it's more expensive, I stopped completely after a roll got lost by the developing lab (mostly animation - it took forever to make, and I was really pissed off)
Now video cameras can definately compete with real film, for image quality - but there's just something different about using real movie cameras that video can't capture.
My sister sent me a Super-8 movie camera for christmas so I'm going to give it a try, since Super-8 is more readily availble than dual-8.

ditto Jinushaun and Moppie.

Canon Powershot A70 that i just received for X-Mas. before, i had a Kodak DX3800 (stolen), and then used my dad's Powershot A50 for a while until i got my new one.

i've been told by many that i'm a fantastic automotive photographer.

don't really have any samples...just take my word for it for now, i guess.

i'll get better with time once i get used to the new equipment too.

I like photography. I'm just using a crappy 4.0 MP Kodak DX4900.

I normally just photograph cars, but when I get bored I'll start taking pics of random crap.
