Big Post For A Newbie

Hey you guys I'm putting up this post to find a car. I will be checking back and I need an overall count. Please vote and/or post. :evillol: Which car should I choose? :evillol:

Well obviously more people will probably choose the mustang, just because of the forum this is in. Although, I like Nissan's as well too, so that would be my second choice.

Thats a tough one. Comon guys you gotta be checkin out that Gti. If I'm not mistaken we're talking Vr6 here, somewhere around 170hp if memory serves? Have any of you ever felt the power band in a 2 door Vr6? It's amazing. I own a 12 second stang and I can still say that cuz the engineering put into those cars is just like wow. Now you might have to worry about electrical/transmission problems. Alot of VW's my friends have shift into first gear when you go to put it in reverse, and I've seen the electrical system in a couple VW's go bad too. The good thing about a mustang? Its a 5.0; you get that old school rumble along with all the power already there stock. You put some bolt-ons on that stang and you'll run on most Vr6's. Thats why you always see Corrados and Gti's with superchargers (no not the stock Corrados the performance minded ones).

VR6's are quick, but don't give them that much credit. When I was working at the shop, the boss and I took one out that was being worked on. It was nice don't get me wrong, but it didn't have the torque I'm use to. I really wouldn't buy a VW product anyway, but that's my opinion.

I didn't mean to compare it to a 12 second stang. I guess I just like that Vr6 sound :-D They're decent from a start but from a roll-on a modded Vr6 can shine. A buddy of mine had a modded Jetta GLX (all motor, intake, exhaust, ecu etc.) that could top at 155 no problem, and it got there pretty quick too. Plus the Vr6's are 'torquier' than a third gen camaro v6 and the 3800 is deffinetly a torquey engine.

Do you expect anyone in a Mustang fourm to vote for another ride? The Ford is my choice but if I had to pick another I'd say the 240. My buddy has one with an aftermarket turbo and it's unreal. A basically stock car with a Turbonetics(not sure of my spelling) single turbo that runs low 13s, and it's a blast to drive.

hehe well no I guess but I've been on both sides of the war my last ride was a 92 civic ex with just about every bolt-on body part and performance upgrade you can get. I used to sell Turbonetics turbos as well they make a great upgrade to a 240 .

I cant beleive nobody is mentioning the supra. I would get the supra out of all of those cars. I dont know if you meant the regular one or the turbo one but either way I would say the supra was the best car out of all of those.

buy an american car your american unless you buy a (volvo,mazda,jaguar,aston martin)

sorry guys. but i voted for the CRX b/c w/ a B16 swap or LS/VTEC swap and I/H/E and some suspension mods and some Type-R or GSR internals . u got a cheap car thats very lite and will handle good wit decent power.

and is the LX u mentioning a 4 banger or 5.0.

Saying dont get a 93 because the pistons are weak is a load of crap. The block in either the 87-92 cars or the 93+ cars will split before you melt a piston, provided there is no detonation.

I would go with the 'Stang, but it also really depends on what your priorities are and what you want to do with the car.

Modify the hell out of it, wash, wax, and armorall it in the cold, pick up chicks.
