I Just want an answer to my question can u help me? i know u can only run about 8psi on a stock turbo and engine on an mr-2 sec. gen but if u replace the pistons and maybe the injectors then can u run more on the stock turbo or do u have to upgrade as well with a new turbo.
Any answer would be great thanks

I beleave you can run a bit more then 8psi on a Gen II. Its the ECU that restricts you. I donno exactly what it is on USDM but the JDM ECU limits you to 12psi. I'm pretty sure of this, but could be wrong ;)

With the fuel cut disabled, and a manual boost controller, you can boost 15 PSI safely, some push it with 16-17...

It all has to do with set up. I am currently running 22 psi on a Gen II (original factory engine/different turbo).

The ECU from the factory has a "fuel cut" at 12 psi ... so if you throw a boost controller on the car and try to up boost you will be limited to 12 psi until you resolve fuel cut.

The factory turbo (the ct26) really is not good for much beyond 16-18 psi or so ... after that is is making for hot air than power. And many people have run 16-18 psi on the OEM engine (pistons too)

At any rate, a properly set up car can make lots of boost ... lots :D

Alot of guys run a TD06. I'm kinda fond of a T3T4 set up. And also KOracing makes a kit with GT25 turbos

For what I understand, you can use the stock turbo up to around 245rwhp safely without having to replace the fuel system. So you probably wouldn't need the upgrade the pistons and injectors unless you plan on exceding 245rwhp.

The stock fuel system is good for 280-290 rwhp.
If you upgraded to the supra 550 injectors you can go as far as 340 rwhp.
I am currently running the 550s and have pushed over 320 rwhp.

The stock pistons have been used up to 500 rwhp.

KO Racing also offers a variety of T3T4 kits.
