yeah I'd go with what kicker said. It sounds like that's all that's wrong...just the fender. If so just pick one up and paint it or have it painted and bolt it on and you should be fine. Where are you from?

$1,500 huh? hmmm.... or you can go to a real body shop and have it done for around $200-250. I used to work at a body shop, and the price I just stated are good, pretty compentative... but $1,500 is insane! That amount of money would be almost equivelant to a full front end collision!..... front bumper, bumper reinforcement bar, radiator support, two fenders, paint AND labor!

Well, he just said his bumper got mashed also, and the corner lamp and side signal marker...plus a hole somewhere he says....plus the fender that is mashed in...that's probably a new fender ( mashed in plus hole), new bumper (I am assuming it's more than a few minor scratches by his post, R & I, prep, paint, blending, new corner light, side light...that sounds a little more reasonable. He failed to mention the rest of this was also wrong in his first post....plus, wouldn't the other guy's insurence pay for the damage. That shouldn't be a problem.
Also, on a side note....anyone smell something wrong here....first post....he say's "someone just hit my front fender on the left..there is a hole on the fender also the signal light is gone."
So he say's he's hit on the left.....then 6 posts down....he says....."he backed his car up and hit the right corner of my front bumper..and the bumper is fucked also the fenders..but i see there is a hole."
Okay, so which is it, first he says he was hit when the guy backed into him on the leftside, the he say's the guy backed into him on the right side....which is it, left or right. That's not something you screw up normally....just seems kind of fishy to me, once you read all his other threads that make no sense, you'll understand.. Do a search and you'll understand, the aem vs intercooler thread in the jdm forum is a good example...

Believe it or not... I've seen some people that still cant get their "rights" and their "lefts" together. Maybe hes one of them lol.
Buddy, is it the right side or left? And if he just backed into you, then your front bumper should be fine... assuming that its an oem bumper. It might need a paint job, but thats it. Take a picture of your car... I'll do a visual quote for you on the damages... to see if the body shops are ripping you off.
And also, if its a hit and run, all you pay is your deductable... which usually is $500 and your insurance pays the rest. As a "hit and run", you dont get points for that so your insurance doesnt go up. Pay your deductable and let your insurance company pay for it. I dont know if it differs outside of California, but here, you would have up to 1 month to report it to your insurance agency.

Okay man, if you're for real, then let the police and the insurance handle it. You'll get money in the end from his insurance after the police sort things out..or your insurance will take care of it as a "hit and run." The rust on the body is seperate from the accident, so fixing that will not be covered by a settlement most likely. "Solving the problem with him perosnally" is a bad idea for you.

Agreed.
You pay for your insurance, let them take care of it. You pay your taxes, or at least your parents do, so you pay for the police to protect and take care of you. You pay all these people so you have less burden, so put your money to use, and let them do their jobs. Report it to your insurance agency, tell them what happend and let them take care of the rest. If they need you to do anything extra as far as communicating with the police, they will go through it with you step by step. Worse case scenario (which I actually would recommend you doing) is let the guy go and claim it as a "hit and run". If you try to pin it on him, you'll have to go to court and try to pin it on him. You'll have to fight and his lawer will claim that you cant prove it was him since you didnt see the license plate number, and they'll most likely dis-credit your eye witness too... thats usually what happens unless you have a super solid story and so does your witness.. which I doubt. After the whole ordeal, you'll lose money and time trying to win your case, in which you were only fighting for $500 which was your deductable. Its more pain then its worth. Claim "hit and run" and pay $500 deductable. You'll get a new paint job and a new bumper of your choice. Play your cards right and you can get even more aftermarket parts.

Well stated. Your absolutly correct. You pay for all this, so let them put put your money to good use and let them do their jobs. On a side note, about "Play your cards right and you can get even more aftermarket parts." That's true. I was talking to a state farm service first inspector a few weeks ago. He was telling me that, for example, when there is a front end collision, it is actually cheaper for them in many case to replace the whole intake assembly with an aftermarket one like an AEM CAI, than it is to replace the damaged stock airbox and plastic tubing with a new stock airbox and plastic tubing.

wow...thats news to me. i dont doubt it in the least though that ins companies would be more than willing to replace stuff with aftermarket parts...that is after seeing the cost of oem parts. my mom rates policies for state farm (please no flames for that), and im gonna ask her to do some research on this...maybe, if im lucky some bastard will back into me and i can get a JRSC to replace my factory airbox (haha), along with the mugen lip kit...hey, never know. ill post back after i talk to her.

Like I said... the best way is to go to your insurance company. If this guy is in his 40s, then I'm sure hes at least adequate at budgeting his pocket. No one in their right mind will want to fork over $1,000 all at once, versus spending $750 extra on his insurance when he pays for it at the end of the year. If the damage was $500, then thats negotiable... but a grand? NO! Unless hes a moron and doesnt know how to spend his money. So this is what you should do.. report it to your insurance company and let them handle it. They are much more educated on things of this sort then most of us here. They'll know what to do, and whether or not there is a case, and if its even worth going after this guy.
Call your insurance company and report it. If they guy was willing to pay you for the damages, he would have left a note.. so he didnt, and he wont. Call your insurance company and report it... from there, all you do is just chill out, relax and let them take care of the rest. So what about your $20 reward? You gave a good kid a Christmas present for being a good semaritan. And what about the guy that hit you.. is he just going to get off the hook? Most likely, but hey, life is a b*tch like that.
A story that this all reminds me of.... hopefully this will help put things into perspective for you. Heres a quicky version of it....
Birds migrate in the winter. One winter, a little bird got lazy and didnt migrate... he procrastinated. When he finally decided to migrate, his wings froze and he fell from the sky and landed in a field. Freezing there... he thought he was going to die and his life was over. Then all of the sudden a cow came and took a huge dump on him. He was in a cow pie. At first he was so pissed, but then he realized that it was so nice and warm. He felt so warm and cozey and just loved it! He was saved! He was so happy that he started to sing. His singing caught the attention of a cat near by. The cat came over, saw the bird stuck in cow dung, so the cat pulled him out and ate him.
Moral of the story: People who sh*t on you arent always your enemy, and the people that help you out of sh*t arent always your friend.
That bastard old man just got you a new paint job, new fender, new hood of your choice, and as I said before, he could even get you alot more aftermarket parts.
Report it to your insurance company.

Very true. Something that I do is very simalar, but actually one step beyond. In that scenario, you have a limited amount of control over what happens to your car. You share the control with the insurance agency, and the body shop. What I do to eliminate the others and have nearly full control is to call the insurance company and tell them to instead of writing the check to the body shop, that if they could write it directly to me, under my name, and mailed to my house. If they ask, I tell them that I want to fix my car at my own time, and I dont have time to do it right now or with in the next few days/weeks. Now that I have the money, I have all the control. I can spend it as I please. I dont even have to spend it on my car. Now you can even further that by making connections like I did. The body shop will hook me up with the paint and labor, and I have wholesale connections with aftermarket parts (I just saved even money by cutting out the middle man, the re-seller). And since I have connections with the body shop, I can contact my insurance agency on behalf of the body shop and make adjustments on the amount of money they sent me. I could tell them it costed the body shop more than was originally estimated, and they'll send me more money! If I was in this scenario just like you, CrXb18c1, I would end up with a new fenders, new bumper, new body kit, new headlights, new spoiler, and maybe even new springs... all painted and installed.

Like I said...
That bastard old man just got you a new paint job, new fender, new hood of your choice, and as I said before, he could even get you alot more aftermarket parts.

holy shit man, what hava all these people been doing since you started this post? GIVING YOU ADVICE!!! what do you want? surely no ones going to come to wherever the hell you live, and take care of this shit for you. and judging by your past posts youre surely not going to take into account what anyone on here says anyway. shit like ricochet made reference to...in your thread about intercoolers/cai's you did the exact opposite of what everone advised you to do.
no matter what happens, youre surely not accomplishing jack shit sitting in front of a computer monitor wishing your car was fixed. and your insurance company surely doesnt mind you sitting in front of a computer. youre saving them a hell of a lot of money...tip to the wise: you didnt hit your own car, someone else did...so logically, youre entitled to money to fix it. i dont know why i waste my time...

Instead of re-writing what I said in another post.. I'll quote myself... it seems appropriate here... it fits...
Bob calls John on his cell phone...
Bob: "Hey John, you should really fly over here to California! The weather is BEAUTIFUL! And the girls are all wearing next to nothing cuz its SO hot!!!"
John: "Really? hmm, it depends. Whats the weather like? And what are the girls like in California?"
I bet Bob really feels frustrated right now. Probably cuz he feels like hes been talking to a wall. Why did John ask a question to an answer he just got??? Strange isnt it. Maybe JOHN SHOULD READ MY POST 2 POSTS ABOVE HIS! lol
REPORT IT TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY!
I think I said it about half a dozen times already. Just let your insurance handle it. Theres nothing for you to press charges on. If there is.. your insurance agency will let you know when you report it to them. So in conclusion... you should REPORT IT TO YOUR INSURANCE AGENCY. Or I would advice you to report it to your INSURANCE AGENCY. I'm not getting mad at you.. just losing patients. Dont take it to heart... just call your unsurance agency.

He was telling me that, for example, when there is a front end collision, it is actually cheaper for them in many case to replace the whole intake assembly with an aftermarket one like an AEM CAI, than it is to replace the damaged stock airbox and plastic tubing with a new stock airbox and plastic tubing.
I had the same problem when my "deer" accidents occured. Yes, the aftermarket parts are cheaper than OEM parts. If someone goes to reputable shop, they might look for the AF Parts if you wouldn't claim it to the insurance. But, if the insurance is taking care of it...the body shop will often get OEM parts, but in the end it will be up to the Insurance Company. I was able to get new headlights and a CF Hood(The only thing is with the hood I had to pay a little extra) From my other posts....My left Headlight was damaged so I just got both of them replaced. So I guess when the body shop was replacing them, they happened to drop my good one. So from that the body shop deducted more from my total cost including deductible. In all, I paid $16.00( I got new lights, and a CF hood :iceslolan ).
As far as the fender damage.....when I got hit by another deer, the deer hit the L Fender(I was thinking a couple hundred...Haha...NO, more like $800) You gotta think about this, when the deer hits that part there will most likely be more damage beyond just a fender, I was blind at that fact. Also, the fender walls and other parts could be damaged...include to blend in the L Door and maybe the bumper as well. I may be forgetting some things??

jmnastee00civ , when you get hit, you do not HAVE to use the OEM part. Now, most collsion repair shops only deal in OEM parts, so that's all they will use. But that's not what you HAVE to use. That was a State Farm Service First Inspector that was telling me that. You don't have to authorzie insurence to pay the body shop directly. You can have them make the check to you, and you pay them body shop. Of course, then, you could by the CAI vs the stock airbox. Still, insurecne is concerned with fixing it properly as cheaply as possible. So if a stock airbox is $300, and AEM CAI is $175, and you want the AEM? If you know how to play your cards, you can come out with the cheap aftermarket performace part. Now mind you, this is not an everyday occurence, but if you know your stuff, it can be done.

Thats exactly what I was saying...I probably didnt word it correctly but... Say for instance, my L Fender was damaged, so the insurance made them put on an Aftermarket Part(Which was cheaper) Im not saying a Z3 Fender just a cheaper fender. Thats how the insurance wanted to do it. I'm not disagreeing with anything that you say, I'm just speaking from my experience. But I knew how to play the cards......Like I said...I got new Halo Headlights and CF Hood out of it.

Crx90SiRicer: You were banned as CrXb18c1 for a reason. As a global mod, I can unban that name, but you have to address what got you banned in the first place.
This is a small list that a member that PM'd me gave: "He annoys the crap out of everyone, his typing is incoherent, he doesn't unerstand what you tell him, and then he get's rude and blames it on everyone else. He can't understand a darn thing anyone tells him, advice or flaming, it doesn't matter."
I didn't hesitate to ban you, because I only left you on after your first trolling post (Click (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=162245&page=1&pp=15)), because you were comic-relief, and needed to learn something.
I am posting this here because I figure you'd probably read this thread, even after you realize your second username has been banned also.
You can't just re-sign with impunity and think everything will be peachy-keen.
Coming back will be a bit harder than that. Make a request. E-Mail me at [email protected], or Igor at **************************.
Otherwise, I guess we'll play a game of "catch-the-comeback", which a lot of members reading this will probably be more than happy to help me with.
You have a very "distinctive" writing-style, so I suggest you try not to play it.
