amp power question

Does anyone know the most wattage you can throw at an Integras battery and alternator and not be left on the side of the road?

most cars can handle 1500 watts (RMS) of stereo power with the factory stuff ..... using a class D amp for the bass really helps

eh, it all depends on the size battery you have, and the size alternator you have... but if you do overpower the battery, you'll kill your alternator... and your car will run on the battery for a few miles.. until it drains, and you'll need a new alternator and battery... but mostly, you'll just end up with a dead battery like I do when i leave my amp on all night...

It also depends a lot on the type of amp you got. What kind of power supply does the amp have? Another thing is that you cant mesure it in how many watts your battery can handle. If you really want to plan ahead, get some specs on the amp you want to buy, find out how much juice it sucks a the rate you will be normally pushing out, then look on your battery to see home much juice it can deliver. Dont demand too much from the battery. Even though your car's systems dont require the battery power, you dont want to overload the alternator.

Unless youre planning on building a large system, I wouldnt worry too much about it, after all you'll know right away if your battery cant handle it. Your lights will dim as your bass kicks. If this does happen, upgrade your battery or get a cap. :)
