Calling all plumbers

Hey just wanted to know how you like your job. I'm applying for a plumbers apprentice program for chicago in january. I know its a good field, my dad is happy that i am actually doing something with my life and that its a good trade to get into. What are your opinions on the profession? Don't know where you live but in Chicago plumbers make good money. i know some who make $37 an hour. Not really getting into it for the money though. Seems like a good trade to be in.

A very good mate of mine does it and absolutely loves it. He's been doing it for around 18 months now and also working ina plumbing supplies store. As long as you like the outdoors and can handle flexible working hours, it's for you.

My experience with plumbers is this:

* notorious for leaving you waiting at home and not showing up, without calling you to inform you of course

* charging ridiculous prices for doing small jobs

in every country ive lived in its been like that, so i hope you plan on going against this trend... good luck

Yes it can get pretty damn cold.

You only get cold if your not a true chicagoan. The cold doesn't bother me at all. And yes crazayjay I will be going against the grain :)
