VW Golf Mk II

While the Corrola is on hold(awaiting some materials to arrive), I figured I would start my Revell VW Golf Mk II 2n1.
I am not building the tuner version on the box, but more of my own as the tuner looks very ricey.
First, I painted it a candy red, and then I realized I forgot to do the bottom silver coat, so I treated it with 3 coats of glossy black with a very very light mist coat of the candy red(can barely be seen).

I then used a little bit of Meguirs(sp?) wax and waxed it.(above pic)
Then came the issue of the rims. While there are 2 styles of rims in the kit, I decided I would use some Fujimi S15 rims(thanks to Malsheem) instead.

And finally, what I have planned so far for the Golf. Side out exhaust(donated from SVT Lightning kit, R.I.P.), mild ride height(maybe), and possibly a stripped interior(like a Club Racer car)

Also, my chassis piece is a bit bent. What is the best way to fix this or should I order another one from Revell?

Nice! I just ordered a Fujimi Golf II GTi kit. Nice to see other "golfers" here too!
Good color choice. And those rims are also same that I ordered :)

I'm currently looking for the new hb Golf GTi. with an engine, anyone know where I can get one, maybe with those deep dish enkei rims. NFSU is really addictive. Anyway, on subject, the car looks good. if the chassis is a lil bent you can dip it in some hot water and bend it back.

The Walmart here where I live had the new Golf. Everyone bought it up though. If you want, I'll keep my eye out for you, and pick it up for you if you want.

Eugene, is it a revell kit? Or something else, I've serirously got to get one to replicate my 'turbo' golf that I have now. Thanks, but I'll be going back there day after tomorrow, so if it's there, I'll pick it up.

Yeah, it was a Revell kit. Wal-Mart doesn't sell any other kits. I didn't even know that Revell made Golfs. Good luck finding it.

Funny, Eugene, I just searched through die cast, and glue kits on the revell site, and came up with nothing! I'll check the germany site, but the only golf I could find was this one.

Thats weird. I could have sworen that I saw a new one. If they don't, I don't know what I'm thinking. Maybe I'm just being dumb. If you can't find it, sorry about puttin you threw all the trouble, but I could have sworen I saw one.

Ahh, no worries Eugene. I could always just build the older one. I'm sure tamiya, fujimi, or someone has a race kit, that'll make it even easier on me, I'll have the drop suspension the 18'' rims, cage, and possibly I'll just have to make the body kit.

I was considering getting the older one too. My dad has a 1:1 of it, and I thought it would be cool to replicate his car.
Anyways, I think we really hijacked this thread. We should get back and stop. Sorry about the hijack.

Heh, no worries on the hi jacking.
I remember P-Man's VR5 Golf kit. Looks so mean.
Ok, more updates coming this weekend. X-Mas plans really screwed me up with working on this.
