hey felllas.... this forum seems to be pretty quiet - but i need some answers... i've heard mixed methods of shifting... my dad said he shifts by pushing the clutch in maybe 1/2 to 2/3 of the way down, or however much it needs JUST to disengage the clutch... hes also got like 25+ years of experience under his belt... on the other hand, there are enthusiasts like my bro and a few friends who say they push the clutch in all the way, but not all of them say why, they jus figure itll "burn the clutch" or "grind gears" if u dont push it in all the way... help me out fellas

mostly it depends on driver prefference on which feels better. 1/2 to 2/3 is going to "make" it feel faster, but it won't always do so. just make the shift as smooth and quick as possible and still feel comfortable.

I prefer to apply a bit of pressure on the shifter while on the gas. Once you ease up on the gas the shifter will pop out of gear very easily and quickly. They a slight dip on the clutch and a nudge on the shifter will put it in the next gear with no fuss. From my experience, this can be done at any speed and as quickly as you wish. If you time it right, you shouldn't feel the shift.

There are so many dead spots in the cluch before it actualy engages so it really shoudent burn it out that much. I never did you dads method I push it all the way down but that would seem to work well.

i say push it all the way down because if you try for 1/2 to 3/4 and don't enguage it all the way you could possibly grind some gears
