Big Engines?

Hey does anybody know whether the F20C or the K20A engines will fit in the CRX? I know that with the right amount of money anything can be done. I don't want to destroy the chassis AT ALL, nor do I want to have it sticking out of the car. Engine mounts, wiring, removing a/c, heating, or battery can be done. good luck... the F20C is the accord/prelude series of engines, and in order to put them in the car, the chassis must be butchered to fit.

The K series has yet to be experimented on, but plan on spendin about 10,000 to drop that in your car..

the F20C is a S2000 Motor and the K20a is a 2002+ RSX-S or Civic Si(R) Motor... good try though.

With enough money & knowhow anything is possible... Like today I took a drive in a 4G63T Powered 5th Gen civic.

1. The F20 has never been put in a prelude, nor any other fseries motor. They've always been B's and H's

2.Yes, the Kseries has been experimentin' on. It has been swapped into a 4thgen. I'm pretty sure that motor mounts will be available for that swap some time in 04.

I thought he was speaking of the Accord Euro R engine, the F20B, which, btw, shares the same chassis as the prelude. this is why an H series will bolt into an F series accord chassis.

Oh, and good luck waiting on that 4th gen K series mount kit.

The 4th gen prelude s had the f series single cam from the accord in it, for awhile, after they changed body styles in 97 they didnt have the f anymore...

I have a stock F20B motor here, running 7 lbs of boost, and it ran a 11.6.

Sorry, I was wrong about one thing.....the Prelude did come with F22's in the non vtec 92-96's. But they didn't come with F20's. Sorry for the mistake.

that is the most preposterous thing ive heard lately. think about that for one second more. if you put the engine in backwards, the shift linkage would not operate properly, everything about it would be backwards. so to go forward you would have to put it in reverse. just because the engine rotates a different direction doesnt mean you have to go flipping things around. if you took the entire drivetrain from the rsx and put it in the civic chassis, once you got it all attached to the chassis, it is just like any other car. have you looked in an engine bay of a civic without an engine in it? there is really no indication that the engine should be on one side and that the tranny should be on the other side. all you see is a mounting bracket on each fender well. with custom mounts, its probably pretty close to being as easy as a bseries, except for the massive wiring change, and the difference in shift linkage. but mechanically, i dont see it being all that difficult once you fabricate the proper brackets for linkages and mounts. then again, you do have to convert to hydro clutch, but you dont have to fabricate stuff for power steering, which makes it a lot easier.

Right...while we're on the thought of swapping in an engine.....

You can swap in any engine from any car into any other car that you want...as long as you have the time and the money.

You need 3 important things to make ANY swap work:

1.)wiring harness adapter
2.)shift linkage
3.)Engine Mounts

The only reason that this swap is difficult to do is because none of the 3 things listed above are "widely available, mass produced, consumer" products.
Think about it. Back in 92 or something, people weren't swapping B-series engines into the 88-91 civics...they thought it was "impossible"......why? Because none of those three things were available yet. When people DID actually start to do that stuff, those three things had to be custom made or fabricated. Then when more and more people wanted to do that swap...companies began making the 3 products that u need to get that swap done....they waited until there was a demand for those products before they began making them. Give it 1 or 2 yrs. After that, those three things listed above WILL be available widely for K-series engines into a civic/crx. Then people all over will start swapping that engine in. But, the Kseries engine DOES fit into our chassis.

You can get any engine to run any car if you wanted too..........Does anyone ever watch "Junkyard Wars"?.......LOL

Geez man. Sorry i got it wrong about the engine :nono: . So can you get that onto an AWD system? :evillol:

This has got to be 14 year old kid with learning disabilities. We have just sat here and told you that ANYTHING I MEAN ANYFRICKINGTHING IS POSSIBLE. To get it on an AWD system would take research and fabrication. Since you apparantly cant use the SEARCH button on ANYTHING, I think those two things will elude you for life.
