HELLLLPPP: Where does this WIRE go??

Ok, trying to get my $200 240sx (S13 with SOHC engine) running.

It's been sitting for 2.5 years so I changed the oil and filter, pulled the plugs and put some oil in the cylinders, cranked it by hand a few cranks, then cranked with the spark plugs out with the starter. Engine turning over well.

Put the plugs in, tried to start... no dice.

Pulled a plug, hooked it onto the wire and turned the engine... yes there's a spark.

Then I noticed there's a wire loose, it comes from back behind the motor and has a spade-type end. Here's a pic;

I looked and looked and can't figure out where it plugs or is attached. I don't even know what it is or what function it has.

Would it cause the car not to run?

Also with the spark, it was sparking but just didn't appear to be as "strong" as I would think it would be. I've never seen a spark plug spark before so maybe I'm just expecting more. It does "snap" when it sparks but it's not like the big spark that I would have expected. Is this normal?

And finally, what should I look for next... there's gas in the tank, it was almost empty so I put 3 gallons in. I couldn't find a drain plug (is there one??) to drain the old gas out.

I may try pulling the fuel rail and seeing if there's gunky gas in there.

I didn't hear the fuel pump run when I put the car on "run" before I started it... I know on my Stealth it "primes" with a click and a short hum. Is this car supposed to do this?

Any other advice on what to do to try to get it running would be gratefully accepted. Let me know the easiest things first. :)

Hehe yeah dude that wire can cause your car not to run... It's the wire going to your o2 sensor. Here's a pic of mine I just took so you'll know what it looks like. Try to plug that in and see if it starts up. If it doesn't then let me know and I'll try to think of what else it could be...

Now how the heck did I miss that? I took that wire and kinda rotated it around looking for places it could possibly go... even looked right at the o2 sensor and even SAW there wasn't anything hooked to it. DUH!

I'm gonna play with the car again this afternoon and will report back. :)

Man I hope that's it, I really don't want to mess with the fuel system and troubleshooting!
