I'm buying the new gt28rs for the t3/t4 drop in. I have a rev hard set up and the turbo I'm getting is internally gated. my downpipe does not have an opening for an internal flap do I have to do anything to switch to an external wastegate? Do I have to unhook anything, seal anything? If so how do I do this?
thanks
thanks

Im a little confused with your question but....If your switching from a internal to a external you have a bit of work in front of you. Your manifold will need to have the external wastegate flange welded on.
But like i said... i think im not understanding the question correctly. Help me out!

What I have
rev hard exhaust manifold with wastegate flange
turbosmart ultragate 35 wastegate
rev hard downpipe 5 bolt (with no opening for wastegate)
What I'm getting
garrett gt28rs t3/t4 drop in with internal wastegate
Since I have a setup for an external wastegate, I do not want to use the internal wastegate on the turbo.
What do I have to do to make sure the turbo does not use the internal wastegate, and that I am using my external one.
thanks soo much for the help

has anyone switched from an internal to an external wastegate before? Can anyone tell me what to do? Or is this not possible?

Call Turbonetics.....it says nothing in my turbonetics book about doing that. But that doesnt mean they cant do it for you for the right $$.

This is actually so easy I can't believe no one could answer it. You just remove the actuator from the GT28RS and make a bolt, etc. so that the flap can't open and then you'll have to have someone cut into your downpipe and run the pipe for the external wastegate.

Or you could just get a downpipe flange that isn't internally gated, they're like $20.
