Tap into the blue wire that comes out of:
A: the back of the gauge cluster, or
B: the blue wire that comes out of the distributor under the hood. I used the latter, but either works...all 4G's were wired the same to the cluster, some just got lucky and got tachs standard...

Yeah both of those places will work, but the blue wire coming out of the guage cluster is the one I used, simply because I didn't have to run any extra wire and I also had a little more of the blue wire to work with. If you look at the plug on the left, back side of the gauge cluster (viewing from sitting in the driver seat), the solid blue wire all the way closest to the driver side door is the one you need. Don't worry about cutting it in two, just connect your wire to that and your tach should work. This site also helped me a lot. -> click here (http://www.westworld.com/~joe_r/tach/tachinst.html)

Good sight...that guy took more time than I did.
Here is the type of connector I used to avoid cutting the wire...I filled the connector with silicone too, since it was under the hood, so it would be water tight and not rust. It has worked for years now :)
The green wire is from the tach....and the blue wire comes from the dizzy and eventually leads to the cluster..You can probably use the same style connector if it fits in the back of the cluster to make installation a snap!
