Valves Making Noise

I'm screwed. I don't know how bad I'm screwed but I'm screwed for sure. The other day I took my car up to 140 with 3 people in the car (I regret it) and while I was in fourth gear, I was so focused on not crashing that I did'nt notice my RPM gauge going to 8400 RPM. I'm glad I noticed it earlier, or else my engine would've blown.

Ok, long story short: My valves are making a clicking noise, are my valves really damaged or could it be a small valve adjustment.

If my dad finds out, I'm screwed. He knows the B18 inside and out so if the valves are bent, he's gona know what I did. Maybe if I tell him I accedently pulled it from fifth gear to second :dunno:

honda engines are bad about letting the valves click when overrevved, but as far as i know, you should be able to check your clearances and adjust them accordingly. other than that....pray.

BTW, when the engine is picking up RPM the noise goes away.

if worst comes to worst, stick with the missing a shift story. i dunno about 5th to 2nd, that would have blown the damn engine, but 4th to 3rd and a heavy foot would be more plausible.
