1999 silverado 4.3 won't start

Hello from Vancouver Island B.C.

I recently purchased a 1999 silverado 4.3 auto 4x4 ,60,000 miles. It's been working beautifully, until yesterday I started the vehicle (cold) no problems.Moved it about 20ft,where it sat for about 8hrs. I haven't been able to start it since. The engine rolls over fine, after 10 seconds it stumbles like it's trying to catch then it goes flat I've tried repeatedly to start it as per manual. It's not the security code issue in the ignition switch ,I've had that fixed already.

Is there anything I can check for the cheap fix before I call a tow truck for Mr.Goodwrench? I'm new to G.M. products. I appreciate any advice.

Regards,
MNG

If your 4.3 W motor has CMFI... which is the one injector with six "spider" lines goint to each cyclinder under the upper intake manifold, you might want to take a look at your fuel pressure.

Sounds a lot like your fuel pump may have gone out. Great idea to check fuel pressure. Another quick check is to take a rubber mallet and beat (hard) on the gas tank while someone else is cranking the engine. Fuel pumps are known to get bad spots on the armature of the motor. The banging is enough to jar it around to hit a good spot. Also check / change your fuel filter.
