Adding a Message Center...

I have a 2000 Explorer XLT. I'm tired of looking at the two cubby holes where a message center would go on the Eddie Bauer edition. I've thought about purchasing a message center off of ebay or a junk yard and installing it. Does anyone know if this can be done with an explorer that didn't originally have a Message Center?
