door problem, fixable or not?

I test drove a '94 Firefly and the passenger door handle (interior) was very loose and had to be used gently. By the time I got back to the dealership, the passenger door couldnt be opened from either the inside or the outside. Is it possible that this could be an easy fix, or something that it would have to go to a repair shop for (read: cost me a lot of money! lol)? Thanks!
