hey guys! my mom has a 97 2.5 gt auto. I just bought a 98 2.5 gt 5-spd. I noticed that the engines run a bit differently. mine seems a big louder. is there any difference between the 97 and 98's i knwo the hp is the same did the torque change? or could it be just because mine is a 5-spd? any ideas?
appreciate ur responses

It is common knowlegde that 5 speed man will produce more power than your mums auto.. There an't to much difference in engine size, but parts on your one.. like the cam or piston could be forged..

Both engines are the same, part for part. Intake pendulums/assembly might differ, but should make no significant power changes.
The excess sound might be due to the miles on the engine. Boxer engines tend to be louder with age, let alone them being loud in the first place.
