did you do all that yourself? How'd you get the carpet on the door panels and the center console red? Also, step by step, how'd you get the dash done?

Yes I did everything myself. the carpet is just some cloth that I put over the old cloth. I used a little cloth glue to keep it connected to the old cloth, and then i stuffed the edges into the gaps between the armrest and door plastic, so it looks clean. For the dash, I took out everything that was removable, like the vents, the gauges, the center part with the radio/airconditioning, the glovebox, the knee bolster under the steering wheel, EVERYTHING that could be removed. Then I taped off everything that i didn't want to get colored, including the windshield, then i opened the doors and taped them off too. after that, i sprayed some vinyl/plastic prep spray onto the vinyl to dry it out so that it would suck up the dye. after that, I just sprayed the vinyl dye all over the dashboard vinyl until it was all red.

does anyone know where i can get those kind of dyes? Don't you have to clean the surface too?

also, is there a trick to getting the center console out? I tried a couple weeks ago when i was messing with the shift boot but i couldn't seem to get the whole center console out.

The center console is easy to remove. there are screws on either side of the center console, both the part with the armrest/e-brake, and the part with the shiftboot. Take out all those screws, slide the e-brake part backwards and up, and then do the same with the shift boot part. Its as easy as that, i could do it for you in two minutes.

yeah i got the four screws out and i still couldn't get it off. I think i wasn't trying hard enough cause i didn't want to bust anything and i also didn't know that i had to pull it back and up.

Theres also screws under the panel in the middle of the console, its a little square panel that you have to pop off and the screws are under it. if you can't move the part around freely just wiggle it and were ever its solid theres most likely a screw.

are we talking about a 98 civic coupe? on my coupe, there are only screws on the sides of the center console, and no screws anywhere else.

I spoke with senaclinton with her interior plans, and what I told her was to have the parts of her car vinyl wrapped. Dont dye them or paint them. Why go through all that to have something that looks only good from a far, but far from good. Have it done, its really not that expensive.
