i have a couple of questions about a v8 swap that i would like to do in my 94 2.2l s10.
1)what is a estimated cost to have a lt1,305, vortec swapped into my truck from a shop(labor only)?
2)how hard will it be to do w/ help myself?
3)could i use a camaro diff. and drive shaft?
4) what would the estimated cost of the engines? (i would have the engine rebuilt so mileage is not important)

late, i hope i get some responces

If you are willing to pay $6000 then bring it to me. I'll put a 388 stroker in with a th400 trans, custom drive shaft and an auburn pro diff with your choice of gears. Aluminum heads nice headers edelbrock Air Gap intake and a Barry Grant carb.
I drive mine to work quite often, I am running to low of a gear though where it is set up for the 1/8th mile.
I am located in Darlington SC. :smokin:

IF YOUR SERIOUS GET THE V-8 CONVERSION MANUEL FROM WWW.JAGSTHATRUN.COM
$30 BUT IT HAS SAVED ME TEN TIMES THAT IN PARTS DESIGN AND VERY IMPORTANTLY...TIME
GOOD LUCK AND $8000 IS PROBIBALLY ABOUT DOUBLE WHAT IT SHOULD COST. DO THE WORK YOURSELF AND SAVE SOME MONEY. GET ALL THE PARTS FIRST THEN POUND IT OUT IN A WEEK.
GOOD LUCK

I have had two swaps in the S-10 and it is not that hard with the right equipment. Buy the JTR V-8 swap manual before you start buying parts. It will save you alot of time and money. The diff of the S-10 should be fine with a stock LT1. With the LT1 or L98 be sure to pick up the painless engine harness to replace the stock harness. My first was a L-98 and now I am working on a 520 horse MFI 383 that has cost around 8500 to build. You should be able to find a LT1 or an L-98 for around 1200 complete and wiring will cost around 300. I think you should be able to do the complete job including 700R4 tranny for around 3500 if you do the labor.

sorry including machine work if rebuild is going to be around 6,000. You probably could find one in good condition at a salvage yard with low miles this would save you some bucks.
