defrost thump ??

I have a 2003 Silverado, extended cab Z71. When put the dial on the defrost symbol and run it at speed 1 or higher, I get a slight "thump" every 35-40 seconds. Is this normal? Could it just be the compressor??
Anyone have the same noise ?
