Microscale CF decal ...no good

I recieved some decals made by Microscale and their CF decal looks absolutely nothing like CF! It's marked TF-34 on the packet. It's to light coloured and is comprised of round white dots on a black background. Is this really how Microscales CF looks, or maybe I have the wrong decal in the pack  maybe this ones for doing cloth pattern on seats or something :iceslolan

Who makes a decent, realistic CF decal? :1zhelp:

I also got two types of Kevlar decal made by them and those look fine... that's why I'm puzzled that their CF looks so unrealistic.

I've never used Microscale for anything but railroad decals (where they were quite vigilant) so I can't tell you if your set is representative or not. But to answer your other question, I've used Scale Motorsport CF decals and I love them. Great detail, good selection of colors and different composites (carbon, kevlar, maybe another?). The are very thing but not fragile, and react well to solvents (perhaps too well, so I usually order extra because I'm not very good with them).

Scalemotorsport and Modeler's decals are the only ones I recoomend. S27 has its own, but never seen in person, so I don't know how good/bad it is.
Detail Master also makes a CF decal, and this one is tricky. It's translucent unlike SM or Modelers, and the patterns won't show up well on a dark surface. However, using this as an advantage, you can make several different darkness of CF by carefully choosing the underlying paint.

Microsales compite decals are rubbish... Scale Motorsports are much better. Their plain coloured sheets are pretty handy though

I have 3 favorites I use depending on the particular C/F I am trying to simulate, all 3 are very realistic:
Scale Auto Style
Scale Motorsport
Renaissance

I got all my Renaissance c/f decal from a now closed online store, but you could try www.mafma.com since you're in Europe (so to speak).
Otherwise you could try www.scaleracecars.com too.
Here is a link to SRC's Renaissance decal: http://www.scaleracecars.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=rencarb&Category_Code=

Renaissance is a French company if that helps any.

SAS is the best place I could suggest. Chris has a realistic weave instead of dots on his cf decals.
