For car costing $84000, it packs little horse power to compete with the big boys. The NSX has been unchanged for about 11 years now and I think its time for a new NSX! For that kind of money, grab a Dodge Viper which costs thousands less anyways...

I accidently hit "No" instead of "yes". I love the NSX. Remember, not everything is power...looks and handling and overall feel comes into play too, which is why I might consider an NSX over a Viper. Then when you factor in reliability (it being a honda) and fuel efficiency, the choice becomes a little clearer. It's more of a street car than a Viper, so using it as a Daily driver isn't a problem.

Look at the aftermarket for the NSX also, some people buy them and then put enough mods on to easily get HP up.

NSX love it posted by [email protected] Adam Saruwatari yes he has done amazing things to the NSX. His drag NSX with over 1000hp. His street NSX with 320 hp and custom bodykit. I wish I had that street NSX.

Although it still looks pretty good after 11 years, I hate it when companies go that long without change (unless it's REALLY REALLY good). Can't wait to see what the next on will be like.

I wouldn't even consider a Viper. I hate them. I'd go for a 328 instead. Or a Lotus Esprit V8.

You mean like the Beetle then? They still make the od model in Brazil and a few other South american Countries.

Yup. There's not many cars that are 15+ years old unchanged still. I would say 911, but it has changed quite a lot, even if it does still look similar.

Just for the record the NSX did not soldier on unchanged for 11 years, in 1997 the 3.0 VTEC V6 was upgraded to a 3.2 VTEC V6, I must say that the NSX is possibly the best car in the world, goes like a Ferrari, yet as easy to use around town as a Civic:flash:

there are blowers for the NSX that help alot.

Power isn't everything, but for $80k it better run damn it! For $80k it needs better brakes. For $80k it at least needs bigger, better, rubber. For $80k it should have NOTHING in common with a Civic in how it drives.

It is a beautiful car though, especially in red... But having cars $10, $20, $30k cheaper then me blowing my doors repeatedly off would get old fast too. For the difference in price you can buy some very nice art, be "pretty", "cultured", and still whip the NSX's ass like a second hand government mule.

I think the NSX is on its last leg unless it gets changed soon

They just changed it. I think it is cool how they made something good and stuck with it. I wish they would have done that with the civic. They come out with the perfect civic, well at least as perfect as a civic could get, in 1999 and then they only keep it for 2 years and make the new amazingly hideous civic hatchback si. The Type-r model doesnt look bad, but they still look kinda like a mini-mini-van to me.

One thing about the NSX is that while it has a lot less horsepower than some of it's contemporaries like the viper, it has a high redline and short gearing which makes it accelerate a whole heck of a lot quicker than just "any" 290hp car.

well the NSX may not pack a lot of hP it still has a fair amount and it looks sick so i love the car, but well RT/10's cost less than a NSX but only by like 5K, but GTS' cost like 90K+

The NSX isn't build for straight line performance, it is built to be an all-around performer. That is why Hp wasn't Acura's focal point while engineering the NSX. They didn't just throw a big engine into an oversized piece of metal and put wide tires on it.

Dont forget it is over 10 years old, so it was a better performer then the more expensive Ferrari's of it inception.

The R/T-10 will run you about $50,000 and a GTS will cost you about $75,000. The NSX is WAY too over priced. I don't really care that, yes, it is a good looking car, it is a pretty good performer. But not for $85,000 grand. Hell, my car has more torque than the NSX does. And just because it a Honda does not make it more reliable than an American made care. Everyone makes their shit, including Honda. A Viper will walk all over an NSX all day long for about $10,000 grand less. For that matter what about the Z06? It costs about $40,000 grand, I think, and it can walk all over an NSX and is still very drivable around town. I just think that paying that much money for so little is a waste of money, sort of like the $90,000 grand Slylines. Thats just my opinion though.

Wow, that does make the NSX look overpriced. I'd still fall for it, though. :D
