I have a 97 Caravan with no back up lights. I replaced the bulbs and cleaned up the contacts on the bulb sockets. Still no lights.
Where is the Reverse/Nuetral saftey switch?? Should I replace it or adjust it; it was intermittent for a while and then did not work at all.
Any reply is appreciated, I could not find info in the archives.
Thanks, KG2QM

hey i also have a 97 caravan and have a similar problem
the front drivers side headlight keeps going out when the car is started, this reverse lights to not work when backing up
the short term solution i have is i give the light a light slam with the fist and the headlight will pop on and then the reverse lights work again untill i turn the car off, sometimes the light isnt out when starting the car
i hoped i help u in, nd if n e one knows a more technical way to solve my problem let me know

The switch you are looking for is on the drivers side front of the car, it is a 3 wire system, on the front of the transmission. They usually have a round connector with 3 wires running horizontally, make sure you don't drop the metal washer, they are pretty easy to get to but sometimes the clearance is not there depending on your options

If the quadrant indicator is lighting up for reverse, then I doubt it's the switch, as these cars use a PRNODL all in one switch in place of the two older style switches. Could still be a relay or fuse. A Scantool will tell you if the switch is functioning correctly.

The display in your instrument cluster that reads P N D 3 L
I'm sorry for using a term like Quadrant but that's what I was told it was - a shorter description than gear selection indicator or such.....
