hey, this is my 4th attempt at drawing a cartoonish car. I took the pic from supercars.net and, in probably about 30-40 minutes this morning i drew this. Its sorta cartoonish in that its out of proportion in some ways, but i tried to keep it looking fairly origional. Tell me what you think. I tried to incorperate some shading and other finer details unlike my first few attempts (see other thread started by me), but i didnt spent ALOT of time cause its crappy notebook paper and besides, its my birthday and i have a new cell phone to play with haha
thx :grinno:
this is the origional

and here is my drawing http://home.comcast.net/~speedingpenguin/Z06.JPG

cool man happy birthday. on the first wheel, the end of the tire should be more rounded. on the inside of it, where u see the iside of the wheel, its not right. it still looks good and it doesnt matter if things are out of proportion on a cartoon. u can do whatever u want. o yeah, most likely, u wouldnt be able to see right through the car in the wheel wells. good job

ah yes....i see what you mean about the wheel wells......
I know what your saying about the inside of the wheels too....but the paper i was using was crappy notebook paper and i had worn it down alot already by having to redo the wheels a few times and i just decided to let it go like it was i dunno....but thanks for pointing that stuff out to me....now i have a few more things to look out for in future drawings. :-)

sorry, i'll be totally honest here. thats not the kinda comments i'm looking for. to say that it sucks, pretty much is saying 'i dont give a freak about trying to help a newbie out cause i'm too lazy'. I just think you could have said that in a different way which would probably improve my work, instead of just saying it sucks. I like the comments above yours though...they tell me what i could change or do differently to make it look better. :eek7: The wheels ARE squareish.....i dunno if you just neglected to read what i wrote and just looked at the picture, but lemme just clarify a few things.
Its my fourth drawing. Dont expect something that GM would look at and say 'Wow, theres the C7 corvette'
I drew it purposly out of proportion and did the wheels sorta squareish because right now what i'm trying to learn is how to draw CARTOON style cars
Thanks to everyone else who gave constructive critisism, and no i did not take your criticism personally....i just thought i'd let you know that i dont think anyone on the forum is really looking for your kind of criticism. So if you want to be the forum prick, go ahead...but dont expect alot of respect.

y u gettin' so pissed over such a small matter? i'm only telling the truth, dun get so bitchy. to me, discouragement is the best form of motivation to improve urself. try to prove me wrong that you dun suck by practising ur skills and drawing a better piece of work instead of whining about!

Indeed so...oh i relish the challenge when people try to stab me in the back about my creations. i protect you out of courtesy....but blings isnt afraid to say what was on his mind...let me help listen to some linkin park or M&M and u will see what blings means.
one minute you're on top
the next your not
watch it drop
making your heart stop
just before hitting the floor
one minute you're on top
the next you're not
missed your shot
you think you won.....and then it's all gone.

well i dunno about other people on this forum, but discouragement is not the best form of motivation.....
the best form of motivation is to explane what you can try and do better to make your drawings better....
