anyone know if the bolt patterns are the same for a 90 DX civic same as for a 96-00 civic EX? asking b/c i am thinking of puting a D16Y8 in my busted 1990 hatch w/ a turbo (really cheep ) i can get the Y8s for like 200-300 $$ and peace a turbo togeater for like another $1500. anyway, will my old school civics tranny work with the Y8? i have a 1998 civic EX right now, the bolts look the same, but i just glanced at it... anyway, im somewhat sure they are, more worried about if the crank thing will fit into the tranny?! this would be cheeper (and easyer) than buying the hydro to cable conversion. [someone explane how that works plz]
i understand the wireing would be something that looks like frankenstin's guts when its done... but its doable right? my understanding is currently that i will need the 2 -> 4 injector controlls (needed anyway) a resistor box for the injectors, and a few hours worth of searching for OBD0 and OBD2 wireing charts to know were to stick the wires at lol. oh, anyone know if the sensers for DX would work on Y8?! --this is starting to sound complicated... i think i will stop by the honda dealer and talk to a tech there...
sum of questions asked:
1. will a 1990 DX tranny work with a 1996 EX motor
2. would it be reasonable to wire OBD0 to OBD2
3. will the sensers work or most have to be changed? (what is even left on the car that the new motor wouldn't have on it? i know the O2)
4. is this even reasonable?

1. yes
2. it can be done, but easier to stick with OBD0
3. depends on OBD generation..sensors are the same besides o2 sensor and distributor, use the distributor and fuel injectors for the OBD generation ECU you use.
4. of course
