they are pretty much the same car, regardless if its a coupe or sedan. the only major difference between the two is that the seats fold in the coupes, and the doors are almost 2x as heavy as the sedans. but they do perform the same.

I like the idea of the sedan, and so does my friend who owns one. The longer wheelbase actually makes up for any weight gain over the coupe. Longer wheelbase and better wieght distribution, I think. Plus the sedan just looks slick, even in that dark purple (with grey interior).

They perform identically. If you get the 4door, you won't be missing anything. M3/4 = best all around car you can find.

I have the sedan, I think it looks really cool and performs great. It's still a small car, whether you get the coupe or sedan, so even with the 4 door it's not like you're driving a boat or anything like that.
I'd say that if you feel you'd be struggling to get by with only a 2 door car, don't hesitate to get the sedan...

This may not relate to M3 cars but i know 325is an i 4 doors are completely different cars in terms of body. The coupe has longer fenders, hood,Frame etc. The sedan from what i have witnessed is missing the Vader 911 style seats that really give better aft and contour support. If you ever wreck it or need replacement parts you must will be limited to puchasing the M3 Sedan or coupe alone( hope this doesnt happen to anyone cause it happened to my brother). Also the sedan does have better weight distribution for the would be racers. Advantage of the Coupe is visibility on both sides. I drove a sedan i didnt like the open car feeling and having all that space behind me. The coupe feels more sporty and looks a bit sharper in my opinion with the longer nose and less blinding 2 extra doors.lol So its a choice of aesthetics VRS handeling. To be honest there isnt a significant amount of handeling difference. Especially if your going to use coilovers or race shocks in future. Good luck.

There the same car. Almost.
The performance is identical. The difference in body and frame are very minimal.

I have the M3/4 and I love it.

i would definelty go with the four door. since the performance is the same the four doors are a convenience for when u r driving people around, and i think the sedan looks just as good as the coupe.
