I have a 1997 Ford Explorer w/the console mounted six CD changer.
About a month a month ago the disk magazine failed to eject so that I could remove it. The changer goes through the actions of unloading the CD from the player but fails to pop up the magazine so that it can be removed. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions without removing the console assembly for access??? Thanks. Dave.

I've had the exact same problem in my 97 explorer xlt for the past few months. Also, when I click the CD button on the dash, it says "No CD", even though there are 6 cd's in there. A guy at Circuit City told me they could take it out, but there was no guarantee they could fix it...
If you figure out how to fix it, please let me know!

I just had that trouble with my stacker the problem is that two discs are loaded together and to removed it from the unit I had to undo the four little screws on top of the unit remove the top. Plug the unit back in ,press the eject button and the unit will start to drag the two disc back then unplug the unit before it reloads get a suitable plastic object to push the discs back into the cradle through the gaps then plug the unit back in and eject. i found my cassett holder number 1 is the trouble so I dont use it ,so now i only have 5 stacker.
hope this helps good luck.( you have to remove the unit out of the cradle and the four screws remove the topof the unit there is nothing you can hurt by removing the top and bottom covers as all they are there for protection hope this explains it a bit better sorry about the spelling mistakes must have been in a hurry
