Paris-Dakar: The Ultimate Rally

Paris-Dakar is the ultimate rally race experience. As one participant explained, ""Once you participate in the Dakar there is no other race in which you want to accomplish more." Now getting ready for its 26th year, the rally is is scheduled for December 29, 2003 to January 18, 2004. Although run on paved roads in Europe, after the ferry crossing at Gibralter, "it's virtually desert all the way to the finish line." The rally is best described as "A challenge for those who participate and a dream for those who stay behind."
