taillights

Will 95-98 TACOMA taillight fit on a 2003? I tihnk i read this somewhere but just want to check. thanks.

I ran into a similar situation on my 2003 Tacoma. Taillights from 95-00 will fit physically but the problem I ran into is that these earlier years have only 5 contacts in the plug harness. The 2003 (and I would guess 2001-2004) have 6 contacts. In order for the taillights to operate properly you will need to splice in a 6th contact. I'm no electrician but with a little patience and plenty of "stare and compare" I was able to get them done. Otherwise I would recommend getting taillights from 2001-2004 Tacoma.
