Happy Hanukah guys :)
for those of us who dont know what you guys do in hanukah, anyone care to share? always been curious to know :D
Its the cleberation of the Jews driving the Greeks out of our holy temple(which is now the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and on top of it, the Dome of the Rock) in something like 3000BCE, or something waaay back there.
The jews had this candelabra dealie which they used to keep the place lit up, and when the Jews took back the temple, it was extinguished. So the leader of the brigade found some oil, and he thoguht it would last for only 1 night, but it lasted for 8 nights.
Therefore most Jews light a candleabra device called a menorah (Meh-no-rah) which has 8 places to hold the candle. But you only light 8 candle per night(1 on the 1st night, 2 on the second etc.) I have one that I made thats a bunch of hot wheels with the roofs off, and i stick the candles in. Its pretty cool.
Theres your ancient history lesson for today.
