Terrorists may be attempting to steal trucks and use them as rolling missles against important targets. If you have any information about stolen trucks your should call the police immediately. You can get a list of recently stolen trucks at www.StolenCarReports.com. I am on the road a lot and I am looking our for anything that might be stolen. We all have to do our part to fight these bastards.

I've never heard about this in the news! Maybe you could put up a quote on the site about these trucks!

He's just promoting his website. Nice idea, wrong place for some advertising.

I don't know what this dudes deal is, but he ain't kidding about the danger of trucks and terrorists. Check out this piece from a couple of months ago. (I checked out the site and it is cool -- I signed up!)

John Ashcroft, US Attorney General (September 25, 2001): "Our investigation has uncovered several individuals, including individuals that may have links to hijackers, who fraudulently have obtained or attempted to obtain hazardous material transportation licenses."

The fear of terrorism has led to widespread truck inspections, and the Motor Truck Association sent out a security alert warning truckers that "the trucking industry is a potential target for terrorists." The alert urges truck terminals to implement 24 hour security, to put up fences, and keep gates closed.

Gail Toth, NJ Motor Truck Association: "More and more companies are going to have to put up those security fences. We're not immune anymore."

Our investigation of truck terminals in New Jersey reveals many security holes. At a chemical transport company we found no fences, and we did not see any guards or gates securing the tanker trucks. Many other terminals left their gates wide, open with no visible security. At a chemical depot, we found tanker trailers parked unguarded along the road. At night we discovered a half dozen tractor trailers parked in this unfenced, unguarded lot.

Most disturbing is how often we spotted big rigs idling at terminals or along the road, with their drivers nowhere in sight.

Harvey Kushner, Terrorism Expert: "A truck left unguarded, a truck idling in front of a building or a truck over a bridge that's not checked out thoroughly. I think this is the weapon of choice for the terrorist we face."

David: So is this also somewhat related to that guy who stole a lumber truck outside Dallas, TX not long after 9/11??

I really never heard anything about this, and honestly kinda doubted its validity... Not to be a pain, but where did you find that info you quoted?

Your skepticism is understandable given the hysteria and hoaxes that have been going around.

http://www.newsbytes.com/news/01/171246.html has some interesting info regarding this phenonemon.
